A great website = more business

It's now standard procedure to check out competing websites before choosing a supplier. If your website doesn't measure up – you don't get the business. Building a great website to showcase your organization is serious work. It requires expertise in a number of disciplines – and that's what you get – when Hume Media builds your website or upgrades one that's underperforming.

Hume Media listens, explores, and identifies your key project goals. Our multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving is effective. And you will be involved in every step of the process, from site architecture through artwork, proofs, to functional samples. We'll also set up a process to track your website's performance and measure its success.

For a free one-hour consultation email at info@humemediainc.com or call 416-921-7204, and refer to Special Offer RH4. This offer expires May 31, 2013.

Toronto Apps

When researching apps, the choices are often overwhelming. For instance, there are at least eight apps on managing bus, subway and streetcar services in Toronto. To make your life easier, we've done the legwork to find six essential apps that, in our opinion, will make life easier for both visitors, and those who call Toronto home.

App:  Transit Now Toronto for TTC
Purpose: Managing Public Transportation
This app covers most of the bases for TTC users. It finds a GPS signal quickly, tracks both streetcars and buses to the minute and, while it doesn't have the prettiest interface, is one of most usable in its class. You can also set a timer, so if you're in Tim Horton's seeking shelter from the rain or snow, you can get an alert a few minutes before you have to leave. Transit Now is available for all major operating systems.

App:  HAILO
Purpose: Finding a cab
Use Hailo to get a taxi wherever you are, to wherever you want to go. All it takes is two taps on your iPhone or Android Phone. You can also pay your cab fare automatically by credit card, with no hidden fees.

App:  NOW's Toronto Restaurant Guide

With this app you get information on close to 2,000 Toronto restaurants including listings by category, directions, pricing, recommendations and full reviews. It uses GPS technology to find restaurants near you. You can also search by neighborhood, type of cuisine, price range, ratings and full reviews of Toronto's best restaurants. The app is regularly updated with information on just-opened restaurants. You get a Google map of each restaurant location.

App:  Toronto's Library Services

App:  OverDrive Media Console
Purpose: Access thousands of audio books
This app lets you download eBooks and Audiobooks directly to your tablet or phone. To use this app you'll need an Adobe ID. Set up your Adobe ID by following the link within the app or going directly to Adobe's website. You'll also need a valid library card to check out eBooks for iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad/Android/Blackberry/Windows Mobile.
